La Bella Notte

I took a walk tonight
and communed with the stars.
They listened intently
as I poured out my heart upon them.
In return, they spoke of
their mysterious splendor
and even danced for me.
Humbled and grateful
I engrossed myself
in the white light of the moon.
Washed in grace
I was lifted from the darkness
of this forlorn world
and released to experience
such a captivating beauty
that my words fail to adequately capture it,
this la bella notte.
